About Me

  • What are your credentials?
    • I am a fully qualified Jungian Analyst, having completed my training with the Guild of Analytical Psychologists (GAP). This in-depth analytical psychotherapy training typically takes 7-8 years or longer in the UK.

I am under regular supervision by a senior analytical psychotherapist who is also a member of GAP. This means that you will be provided with the input of a highly experienced analyst. I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). GAP is a member organisation of UKCP and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP). I am also a Member of The Guild of Pastoral Psychology.

  • What codes of ethics do you follow and what about confidentiality?
  • How is psychotherapy regulated?
    • At the moment there is no regulation in the UK, so anyone can call themselves a counsellor or psychotherapist. There are, however, a number of professional bodies that establish rigorous training requirements, codes of ethics and continuing professional development criteria. One of the foremost organisations for psychotherapy is the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
  • My background
    • I discovered Jung over twenty five years ago when I came across his book 'Memories, Dream and Reflections'. Since that time my interest in his work has grown and led to the decision to train as a Jungian Analyst. Over the past twenty years, since originally entering my own personal analysis, I have practised dream interpretation and working with the unconscious. Prior to deciding to train as a Jungian Analyst, I worked in industry as an Environmental Advisor/ Consultant for fifteen years, having completed a Masters degree and a Doctorate in Environmental Management from Brunel University. I have also been an academic tutor for over ten years. My experience of Jungian analysis is that it has a deeply transformative effect and that it can be life-changing. I am now committed to applying what I have learnt about Jungian psychology to supporting others through analysis.
